Colt’s Armory Platen Press, 1872
This Colt’s Armory Platen Press launched the Stagecoach Press in Los Angeles, in 1962. It was given to the Palace Press in the late 1960s and was used to print, among other pieces, Spirals: Five Songs of the Mountain Trail by poet Leslie Bottorff, under the guidance of then director Pamela Smith. Today the press is undergoing restoration. Courtesy of the Press of the Palace of the Governors, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
